Fancy Gap, VA (October 23, 2026) - Mountain Fever Records is proud to announce the release of “Sometimes,” the latest single from Shannon Slaughter, from his forthcoming album Miles Between the Memories.
Written in collaboration with Alabama songwriter Larry Leach, “Sometimes” is a thoughtful reminder of faith, guidance, and the comfort of knowing we are never truly alone. The song reflects on how easy it can be to get caught up in the demands of everyday life and forget to pause and seek God’s direction.
“Alabama songwriter Larry Leach and I collaborated on this song, and it really speaks to something I know is true in my own life: God is always there, ready to guide us, but so often we get caught up in life and forget to stop and seek Him,” Slaughter shares. “The message of this song is a simple reminder that we’re never alone, even when we sometimes forget to turn to Him. I especially loved the harmonies on this one, and Larry did too!”
“Sometimes” showcases the combination of traditional bluegrass musicianship and heartfelt songwriting that listeners can expect from Miles Between the Memories. Shannon Slaughter takes the lead on vocals and guitar, joined by Cliff Bailey on bass and harmony vocals, Trevor Watson on banjo, Ron Inscore on mandolin, Michael Cleveland on fiddle, and Gary Hultman on dobro. Together, the musicians create a rich, full arrangement that gives the song both emotional depth and a distinctly bluegrass feel.
As the latest preview of Miles Between the Memories, “Sometimes” offers another glimpse into Slaughter’s evolving work as a songwriter and bandleader. The forthcoming album continues to showcase his ability to pair meaningful stories with the musicianship and vocal harmonies that have become hallmarks of his sound.
“Sometimes” is available on all major streaming and digital platforms.
