Remedy Tree

Remedy Tree is a Florida-based Americana band rooted in bluegrass, old-time, and folk traditions. Founded in 2015 by Gabriel and Abigail Acevedo, the group blends Gabriel’s unique perspective—born in Puerto Rico and raised in rural Florida—with Abigail’s deep old-time background. Together with Nathan Beaumont, a 2nd-generation bluegrass player on mandolin, and South Florida’s Isaac Taylor on banjo, they create original music that feels both timeless and fresh. Since signing with Mountain Fever Records in 2024, Remedy Tree has performed in Ireland, England, and across the Eastern US, sharing stages with Peter Rowan, The Infamous Stringdusters, Sister Sadie, Ricky Skaggs, and The Steeldrivers. Their 2026 album Stay in the Light is now out, weaving wild forests, winding roads, love, loss, and some Florida/Latin flavors on  the track “Crispy Fried Potatoes”. The album features collaborative songwriting from the whole band plus guests Alwyn Marshall (Leftover Salmon) and Jason Carter on fiddle. In summer 2026 they headlined The Forest Tour, with a western run through Yukon, Vancouver Island, Washington, Denver, and the Southeast playing iconic venues such as the Station Inn and Eddie’s Attic. A growing force in Americana music—deep roots, new ground.

Remedy Tree kicks off a new chapter with “Train to Folkston,” the first single from the band’s forthcoming album, Stay in the Light. Co-written by Adam Haynes and Gabriel Acevedo, the song is rooted in Southern storytelling and acoustic tradition, weaving a haunting tale of love, loss, and the strange and beautiful ways nature can carry a memory.

“Train to Folkston” tells the story of a man who loses the woman he loves along the Charlton County line. With an acorn placed in her hand, she is laid to rest, and from her grave a tree eventually grows. Years later, when the wind moves through its branches, the tree seems to cry out each time the train rolls south toward Folkston. It’s a tragic yet beautifully strange story where heartbreak takes root and becomes something living, turning a lost love into a permanent part of the landscape. The tree becomes a living landmark, quietly standing watch as the years pass and the train continues its journey south. Filled with Southern imagery, atmospheric storytelling, and emotional depth, “Train to Folkston” feels like the kind of story that could have been passed down for generations.
