Deer Creek Boys Join The Family

Virginia’s Deer Creek Boys are the newest band to sign with Mountain Fever Records.

The group made the agreement with Mark Hodges and the label official during the SPBGMA convention over the weekend in Nashville.

Deer Creek Boys have been together since 1999 when two brothers and a childhood friend starting picking and writing together in Amherst County. But the past few years have seen them inactive with original members Justin Tomlin spending a few years playing guitar for Nothin Fancy, and his brother Jason on bass with Junior Sisk. Both recently resigned their positions to put the old band back together, with Cason Ogden on mandolin.

North Carolina banjo picker Andy Lowe has joined the founding members to create a very aggressive, hard-charging sound that retains the structure of traditional bluegrass but with an energy and passion that is the essence of youth and vitality.
