Mountain Fever Records Signs Kentucky-Based Bluegrass Standouts Throwdown Thursday

Mountain Fever Records is excited to introduce Throwdown Thursday, a standout bluegrass group from Central Kentucky whose high-energy shows and musical chemistry have quickly earned them a devoted following.

Born out of the Thursday night living room jam sessions during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, Throwdown Thursday is a band forged in friendship and fueled by a shared passion for fierce bluegrass. From the very first jam, it was clear to this group of seasoned pickers that they had stumbled upon something special — a chemistry and sound that demanded to be heard.

Throwdown Thursday features an all-star lineup of veteran musicians who have toured with some of the most respected names in bluegrass, including JD Crowe & The New South, American Drive, Kenny & Amanda Smith, Blue Moon Rising, Grasstowne, David Parmley & Continental Divide, and Newtown. The band’s dynamic lineup includes:

Justin Jenkins – banjo

Evan Maynard – mandolin & vocals

Kati Penn Jenkins – fiddle & vocals

Ronald Mosley – guitar & vocals

Kyle Perkins – bass

“We’re thrilled to welcome Throwdown Thursday to the Mountain Fever family,” says Amanda Cook. “Their electrifying energy, tight musicianship, and deep roots in bluegrass tradition make them a perfect fit for our roster. We can’t wait to share their music with the world.”
