Based in Central Arkansas, Casey Penn is an award-winning songwriter and a performing bluegrass/americana artist. A proud new member of the Mountain Fever Records roster, Casey’s first three singles have included “Chasing Rainbows;” which debuted on the Top 20 Bluegrass Today weekly chart; “Little Lives;” and “We Go Together Like a Guitar and a Fiddle;” which remained for seven months on the Bluegrass Unlimited Top 30 Survey Chart. Penn’s past release, “I’ll Never Be A Mountain Girl,” written by Penn and Irene Kelley, reached #8 on Bluegrass Today’s Weekly Grassicana chart (2021). Casey’s debut album was released February 10, 2023, and was titled One Step Away with a successful album release celebration at The Station Inn (Nashville, Tennessee).
After writing about bluegrass music and artists for years, Casey started her own performance journey. She grew up playing the fiddle and wasn’t exposed to much bluegrass music until she started playing bluegrass gospel with her husband and his family. In 2018, she became a co-founder of the duo Lee Street Lyrical, which was a repeat nominee for the Arkansas Country Music Awards. Since joining Mountain Fever Records in 2022 as a solo artist, Casey has assembled a touring band and has performed regionally and nationwide, including festivals, events, and celebrated venues. Notable venues where Casey has performed include Ozark Folk Center, The Lincoln Theater, Floyd’s Country Store, Lorraine’s Coffee House & Music, and more.
The Casey Penn band includes Penn (vocals, rhythm guitar, fiddle), Rodger King (vocals, dobro, guitar), Tiffany Turner (banjo, guitar, vocals), Andy Novara (mandolin, guitar, vocals), Will Penn (bass), and Titus Turner (utility player, mandolin and guitar).
