Aaron Ramsey

Aaron Ramsey has dedicated more than half his life to music. While bass was his first instrument, the mandolin quickly became his true passion. Aaron began playing mandolin at age 12 and joined his father’s Gospel group, Damascus Road, by the time he was 13. At just 17, he won the prestigious MerleFest Mandolin Championship in 2002.

In the fall of 2007, Aaron stepped in for Adam Steffey with Mountain Heart, and later that year, he officially joined the band, debuting on the iconic stage of the Ryman Auditorium. Beyond his work as a performer, Aaron is a creative force in the studio, serving as a producer, engineer, and multi-instrumentalist for many of Mountain Fever Records’ projects. His talent and versatility make him an invaluable contributor to the world of bluegrass and acoustic music.
