Digital Distribution Takes the Bluegrass Label to New Heights

Mountain Fever Records builds a new partnership with Syntax Distribution to share its bluegrass music around the world. Artists such as Volume Five and the Spinney Brothers will be available digitally through Syntax’s extensive roster of music providers.

Mountain Fever Founder Mark Hodges says, “Syntax is a highly regarded company that has the best customer service in their field. The staff is more than eager to assist with every aspect of taking a record and digitizing, releasing, and promoting it to the world. There are a couple of labels that I hold in high regard, and they have had a long and happy relationship with Syntax. That’s a pretty big recommendation to me.”

“Mark is an entrepreneur at heart,” says Tim Trudeau, Syntax Distribution CEO. “He sees an area of need and he steps up to do something about it. He does it so well that things take off. People want to work with him. He’s very humble and unassuming about it too. Perhaps that’s part of the charm.”

Syntax Distribution ensures that Mountain Fever recording artists will be on iTunes and other online music service providers. This new partnership takes classic American music into the digital space—a venture that inspires Hodges. He says, “I’m proud to have our music played and sold alongside the great historical releases of the last 20 years.”

Mountain Fever’s first release with Syntax is from Jett’s Creek, entitled The Wait Is Over, coming to a digital stores October 15th. Mountain Fever also highly anticipates a debut single from the recently signed the Darrell Webb Band. The first song off the band’s upcoming album, due February 2014, features a duet with Rhonda Vincent. ”It is the 20th anniversary of Webb’s tenure in bluegrass,” adds Hodges. Other artists appearing on the album include Blue Highway, Lonesome River Band, J.D. Crowe, Dailey and Vincent, and others.

“I am glad to call Mark and Mountain Fever a partner of ours and look forward to years of working together,” says Trudeau.
