Frank Poindexter and The Rice Brothers – “IT’s THE MUSIC”

Willis, VA (May 10, 2022) – Mountain Fever Records is proud to announce the digital release of Frank Poindexter’s album “It’s The Music.”

This unique project is incredibly special as it was the last studio performance by all four Rice brothers together. Of the experience Frank recalls, “It was pure love being together during the four days of recording with them. We lost both Larry and Tony in 2006 and 2020 so I’m grateful to have these recordings.” Mountain Fever Records is honored to share them with you!

Frank Poindexter, a North Carolina native is the youngest boy from a tobacco sharecropper family of 15. He learned to play the Dobro by the time he was ten years old, converting a cheap 6-string guitar into a make-shift Dobro using a bucket lid over the sound hole to resemble one that Uncle Josh Graves played.  By 15, he got his first real Dobro and joined the Carolina Rangers band playing on WLOE Radio out of Eden, NC, a 15-minute live show each Saturday morning.  Frank is a current member of the popular  North Carolina band, Deeper Shade of Blue.
