DETOUR AHEAD

detourcropMountain Fever Records kicks off 2014 in a big way with the signing of popular contemporary bluegrass band Detour. The Michigan-based band is well-known for their tight focused harmonies, precision instrumentals, and creative melodies that take listeners down a unique bluegrass road. The band’s first single, “Too Blue To Have the Blues,” written by Jeff Rose and Terry Herd, is scheduled to hit radio in February.

Detour bandleader Jeff Rose says, “We are thrilled to be part of the Mountain Fever family. We have been talking with Mark for some time about the potential of working together and we have been constantly impressed with him as a label owner and as a person. He loves bluegrass music as much as we do and the quality of music that Mountain Fever is putting out is top notch. It is a great fit for us. This is going to be fun!”

Missy Armstrong who is considered to be the most talented and promising female vocalist in all of bluegrass has this to say. “Mark has become a dear friend and I’m looking forward to the opportunity to work with him and the entire Mountain Fever family! I feel pretty blessed to play bluegrass music & being surrounded with such great folks makes it even more of a blessing.”

Band members include Missy Armstrong (Lead Vocals & Guitar), Peter Knupfer (Violin), Scott Zystra (Guitar & Vocals), Jeff Rose (Mandolin & Vocals), Lloyd Douglas (Banjo), and Jeremy Darrow (Bass).

Needless to say, with the additions to the label over the past few months, the folks here at Mountain Fever  are looking ahead with big smiles on their faces.
